The next tutorial will show you step by step how you can make a professional  Text Shape only with the layers.

Step 1

Open a new document, size doesn't matter, and select Type tool and write down a word..whatever..

Background i choose to blue..but you can choose your own..

Step 2

Select Move Tool or Press V and resize your text, make it bigger..or smaller..depends on what you have ..

Step 3

Double Click on the text layer..and you will be able to modify the font, in my case i choose Comic Sans Ms

Step 4

After you have selected your font, press again on Move Tool and modify your text size, like mine...

Step 5

Make a copy to the text layer..go to the top menu. Layer - Duplicate Layer

Step 6

Go and make invisible the original text layer, and then Rasterize the copy of the text layer and lock the layer..

Step 7

Change the color of the text in white. Then go to Edit - Transform - Flip Vertical and selecting Move Tool drag the second text layer under the first...like i did..

Step 8

Add a vector mask to the first text layer like mine and then choose the Gradient Tool and drag a line like i did..

Step 9

Press CTRL and select both layer text, then go to Edit - Transform - Distort and make the image like mine..

Make a new copy to the second copy of the text layer.

Step 10

Now its time to make another shape text, this time in the back of the first text layer..and the final result should be like this...
